Cleveland Plays Racing, established in 2009, is comprised of runners that decided to start organizing high quality races. We are a subsidiary of Cleveland Plays, Inc., the hugely popular sport and social club. It is owned by Kate Pophal and John Teel, the Owner of Cleveland Plays Racing. Our mission is to create a comprehensive home for Northeast Ohio runners that includes a listing of ALL of Greater Cleveland's running races, local running clubs and pertinent running articles.
The four races owned by Cleveland Plays Racing, Whiskey Island Sunset 3k by 2 Relays, Twilight Trail 8k, Mayfield Mile and Race for the Rainbow 5k all offer prize money and our road races are USATF certified. Shout outs go out to the winners of the Whiskey Island 3k by 2 Sunset Relay. The weather was fantastic and we ended up with 50 teams. Congratulations to Nicole Camp for winning the Twilight Trail 8k. Thanks to you all for making this year’s race a success. We had a record number of ‘jump ups’ and with our donation, The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center will receive the largest donation from us in our 5 years of organizing the race.
Registration is now open for the Mayfield Mile, Sunday, September 12 and Race for the Rainbow, Sunday, October 17.
